Control the Basketball Control the Court

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

Welcome Back fellow scoring greats,

I say greats because if you follow my advice you can be a scoring great as you help your team win ball games.

The fourth lesson is to work on getting better ball control which includes handling the ball through dribbling and how well you hold the ball as you shoot.

The best scorers know how to create space between them and the defender.  You must working on your ball handling skills to the point where you can make the ball go where you what it to go which is the key to success.

Many young  players are mistaken and think they have to be a human highlight reel when they dribble during a game;  this thinking will only distrack you and make your game very inefficient.

The majority scorers are very efficient in what they do on the court.  Your focus should be the same as you work on specialized skills to set you apart from regular players.

Remember everytime you step in the gym know that you can hold your own against any other player on the court.

Now according to where you are skill wise you are going to have to spend some time focusing on what is going to make you comfortable on the court.  Basketball is a game of angles and misdirection.  The best way to manipulate both these factors is ball control.

To find a confort zone, look for 1 – 5 drills (or drills I recommend) to work on consistantly to increase your confidence and your skill level.

Combine ball control with conditioning and mental strength and you will be well on your way of taking control of any basketball situation.

Remember to sign up to receive the overview of what I believe the best leg conditioning program on the market.  The Jump Manual will give that extra edge that will make you standout on the court.  Jacob Hiller’s program if used as instructed can add 4 – 12 inches to your vertical.  Just enter your name and email address on the right hand side of my blog for full details.

Stay tuned as I cover more insider techniques that will raise your scoring game to the next level.

As always I want you to talk back to me and let me know what is on your mind.  Let me know how I can help you improve.

Be The Last Man Standing on the Basketball Court

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Welcome back it is now day number three as we continue on our journey to becoming the best offensive force on any basketball court.

I am currently watching two of the best scorers in the NBA the Miami Heat’s Dwayne Wade and the Washington Wizard’s Gilbert Arenas.

One of the best ways to learn the scorers mentality is to observe the best.

Now what do I mean by “Last Man Standing” simply outlast your opponent through conditioning.  Many players take conditioning for granted.  Having legs that can run and jump for extended periods of time will set you apart from ordinary players.

Before any playing season always do a little extra in the weight room and on the track to prepare for an outstanding scoring season.

It has been stated that “Fatigue makes weaklings of us all” this quote says it best.

Remember to sign up for my email newsletter which gives an overview of one of the best leg conditioning programs I have ever used.  The Jump Manual will give you the edge you will need to out jump and outlast anyone on the court.

Offensive rebounds are essential to round out any good offensive players bag of tricks.  Being quick off the floor will get you more and more rebounds and tip-ins to pad your stats.

I will get into specific drills later as we continue on our Dynamic Scorers Series journey.

As always leave your comments and sign-up for my free newletter.

Let me know what you think is keeping you from playing you best basketball.
